Perhaps the best way to explain what the members of Brenda Angiel's Aerial Dance Company are, is to make clear what they are not. They are not circus performers, nor are they marionettes. Though they are attached to ropes, twirling, swinging, turning cartwheels and somersaulting through the air, they are not performing tricks. It is modern dance in the air. Or: aerial dance - choreography for dancers in flight.
